What is Modern Woman’s Portraiture?
Our style of Modern Woman’s Portrait Photography involves a clean and contemporary photographic style, combined with posing and lighting techniques designed to bring out the best in each woman we photograph. It may include Intimate Boudoir portraiture as well, depending on the desire of our client. It is always elegant and classy, and will always strive to bring out the most desirable shape and shapes in our clients.
As women, we spend endless amounts of time and money pampering ourselves with beauty products and services, clothing, accessories, fitness and even plastic surgery to make us feel beautiful. By investing in portraiture of ourselves, we can capture and document our beauty to treasure for a lifetime.
Regardless of age or body type, we specialize in offering all women an incredible opportunity to commission their own personal collection of stunning, modern, exquisite portraits.
Flattering your best features, Margie Mobley Photography provides you with something truly unique to showcase how beautiful you are.
I need to loose a few pounds and I have some problem areas that I don’t like about by body – is there anything you can do?
Well, seriously, who doesn’t?
Margie is the proud mother of triplets, so she understands the little (or big) imperfections we woman can sometimes have. Regardless of age or body type, we specialize in offering all women an incredible opportunity to commission their own personal collection of stunning, modern boudoir portraits. Flattering your best features, Margie Mobley Photography provides you with something truly unique to show how beautiful you are. Every woman is very different and has something incredible to capture.
Our advanced retouching includes skin perfecting, slight body contouring and feature enhancement. Every detail is covered from wrinkles to acne, scars, cellulite and stretch marks. You don’t have to worry about these little imperfections. We have everything covered.
If you have a particular problem area that you’re not happy with, let us know. Our advanced posing techniques are designed to emphasize the positives and conceal problem areas. In addition we can perform a little “digital liposuction” in the retouching stage, although we like to keep that to a minimum. We will not completely change the shape of your body – after all that just wouldn’t be you! We like to say that the images will represent you, exactly how you are, on your BEST day. 🙂
My session is booked – how do I prepare?
In preparation for your shoot, please think of the following things:
Hair touch-ups, waxing, eyebrow shaping, manicure, pedicure, tanning and moisturizing. Once your session is booked, we will send you our Client Guide which goes into further detail regarding preparation.
IMPORTANT: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT TAN, DO SPRAY TANS OR BURN BEFORE YOUR SESSION AS THE RESULTS CAN BE VERY UNATTRACTIVE. If you do have strong tan lines, please try to select garments which will conceal the tan lines. Photoshopping of tan lines is an additional expense if you want us to remove them. Also some spray tans do not photograph well and can look very orange in your final images. Photographically your natural skin tones will always look better.
I’m excited for my session. Can I bring my mother/sister/friend along?
Definitely! We love those kinds of sessions. We can accommodate a second or third person into you session for an additional session fee of $100 per person. We will shoot each person individually and if you’d like, we can do some shots together. Mother/daughters or sister portraits are some of Margie’s all-time favorites. Please schedule these in advance so that we allow for enough time for each person and the group shots.
Do you provide hair and makeup services?
Yes we can provide professional styling, including false eyelashes, for a fee of $75. Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like us to book a stylist for your session.
If you choose to provide your own hair and makeup, we strongly encourage having both done by professionals, particularly having individual fake eyelashes put on – it really makes a really big difference in the final images.
What should I bring to my shoot? Do you supply wardrobe?
No we don’t supply wardrobe but we do have some great suggestions on what to purchase and bring with you. Please bring a variety of dresses, lingerie, shoes and jewelry. We will work with you to create the look you want. When you are choosing your outfits, consider choosing more than one set, a variety of colors and styles, to get a variety of looks.
I have a board I’ve created on Pinterest (http://pinterest.com/margie_mobley/women-s-fashion-for-photoshoots/) to give you some ideas. Overall, try to stick with simple lines, monochromatic color themes and clothing that stays close to the body, as that will give you the most flattering shape.
Lingerie can include bra and panty sets, a corset, teddy, chemise, camisole, garters, thigh high stockings and robes. While black is the standard in sexy, all colors are great and give a nice variety of looks to your final images.
For brides, consider bringing your favorite white or ivory dress or lingerie. If you have your veil and your wedding shoes, those would be great to bring too.
Other items to bring include a variety of (very high!) high heels, high boots, jewelry, scarves, hats, ties. Feel free to bring anything with you to accessorize your shoot and make it a more personalized experience. Have a look through our galleries for inspiration.
I’m a little uncomfortable about nudity
For the most part, our artistic style does not involve nudity. Even in our boudoir portrait sessions, usually the woman has on lingerie. Or if they are nude, they are turned away from the camera, or covered up in just the right places.
Nudity is certainly not necessary and we will never push you to go further than you feel comfortable with. Sexy isn’t always about how much you show, it’s all about how you show it!
Sounds great … but I’m feeling nervous about my shoot!
Feeling nervous or self conscious about having a portrait session? It’s completely natural to feel this way. We guide you through each pose and know exactly which angles to capture for all body types to make you look like the beautiful woman you are. You don’t need to know how to pose, you won’t have to do any performing and won’t be put on the spot. We’ll show you how to get those sexy poses and elegant looks. So leave everything up to us … just relax and enjoy yourself!
Will my session be with a female photographer?
Yes! With such personal portraits it is reassuring for both you and possibly the man in your life that Margie Mobley Photography is an all female team including the makeup artist, photographer, assistant and retouch artist.
I’ve had my session – what a blast! When do I get to see my images?
Within approximately 2 weeks of your session, your proofs will be done and we’ll invite you in for a private viewing of your portraits. At that session you’ll see all your images from the session, enhanced to perfection, and set to a beautiful slideshow. We will help you go through and select the images you want for your photo box and wall portraits, and plan out the perfect combination of items to suit your individual needs.
How many images will I have to choose from?
Many images are captured during your session. Afterwards, each image is put through a careful selection process. You will see only the images that meet the high technical and artistic standards of Margie. Images that do not meet these standards are removed permanently during the image processing routine.
Margie is definitely an overshooter. A typical portrait session yields between 20-40 individual photos, so you’ll have plenty to choose from.
Will my images be shown on your website or in your studio?
The images shown on our website, blog and marketing materials are shown with the client’s permission only. In your ordering session you will be given an optional model release form that is completely voluntary to sign. If you do give us permission to post your images to our blog or Facebook, or use them in other marketing materials, we always respect our clients request that any particular image is not used. If you choose not to sign the release, your images will not be seen by anyone other than employees of Margie Mobley Photography and the necessary vendors required to fulfill your order. We fully understand and respect the privacy of our clients.
Do I get the digital files to share on Facebook and my blog?
We will provide you with web-sized, watermarked files of any images you order for sharing online with friends and family. We do require that you not remove our watermark, and that you tag us in Facebook or credit the photo with a link back to our website in other online uses.
The images presented to you in your gallery that you do not order are not available for you to download, print or copy. It is a common misunderstanding that it is ok to right-click and save your proofing pictures to your computer for personal printing or displaying on the internet. However it is illegal to download, copy, print or reproduce the images in any way.
We spend a great deal of time after your session in our digital darkroom, perfecting your images. We ask that you respect what we do for a living, and the laws set in place to protect them. Our pricing has been carefully structured to be able to maintain our business. If we allowed theft of our images, we would not be able to offer this unique and beautiful service to women.
I have friends who are excited to book an intimate session as well
We love doing boudoir parties. They are perfect for a little girlfriends get-together, a bachelorette party, to celebrate a birthday, or just “because”. LOL. If you have four or more friends who would like to book a boudoir party, let us know. We’ll arrange for a luxury hotel, a pampering makeup and hair stylist, a manicure and pedicure, and extra special attention from our staff to make your experience as special as possible. Plus, if you want to customize your day, just let us know how we can help… anything from arranging a limo to pick everyone up and bring them to the hotel, a special in-room cocktail hour or dinner, theatre tickets after the sessions… you name it and we’ll do our best to deliver.
For each new client that you refer to Margie Mobley Photography who books a boudoir session, you will receive a $50 credit towards an additional session for yourself. Take advantage of the referral program as often as you like by spreading the word!
Credits are awarded once the full session fee is received from the new client. Credits have no cash value and can only be used by the original referrer and are not transferable.
I’d love to give a session as a gift. Can I do that ?
Certainly! Gift Certificates are available for inclusive session fee and product packages.
